David Ayer shared the new Jared Leto Joker photograph from his Suicide Squad clip, which has yet not been released, unlike Zack Snyders Justice League.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer shared his never-before-seen view of Jared Leto’s Joker. Leto’s Joker’s design choices have varied from Suicide Squad to Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The audience was not aware of other fashion options.
The Suicide Squad director keeps fighting for the real version of the film. Ayer states that Suicide Squad has been reworked in the Deadpool image to reflect a more lighthearted tone.

Ayer posted a brand new image of Leto’s Joker to Twitter with the caption, “experiments” after a costume fitting. The suit aligns well with the adaptation of the character as an eccentric mobster and anarchist inspired by modern-day aesthetics. Ayer said, “Joker killed Robin. Batman takes out his teeth. Arkham Asylum locks him up. Joker would have done the “damaged” tattoo as a message for Batman, saying, “You’ve hurt me.” I was so pretty before, but now you have destroyed my face.” Joker of Zack Snyder’s Justice League said that the tattoos were covered up because Snyder stated that he would include “Joker telling Robin the story” in Justice League section 2. Snyder suggests that this sequence could have been a flashback sequence showing Joker in the classic design with the purple suit.
One Twitter user said they were glad Ayer’s Joker photo didn’t make it to the news. Ayer stated that the “New 52” Court of Owls Batman influenced some of the design choices. This can be seen in the Joker’s hairstyle and black suit which are similar to Batman Endgame Chapter 7, as well as the white tuxedo used in the car chase sequence, inspired by The Dark Knight Returns.

Ayer has made it clear before that he intended to depict the Joker as Ayer. Ayer has previously stated that Jared had been “very mistreated” by Ayer and that no one had seen his performance. It was ripped out of the movie.” Ayer further stated that the Suicide Squad teaser trailer aligned with the original vision and that Joker was one of many additional re-shoots. These re-shoot are not seen in the theatrical version. Ayer continues to share photos showing Leto as the Joker in Suicide Squad which further questions the intentions of the director.
Ayer made Heath Ledger look pale again, but many are upset by the execution more than the intentions behind it. Fans should put down their pitchforks, or at the minimum, redirect their energy toward WB. They can campaign for the Ayer Cut to ensure that Leto’s true JK performance is visible.
The Suicide Squad is available on HBO Max.
