Spot-On Daryl Impersonation: The Walking Dead Cosplayer Sports an Unnervingly Accurate Norman Reedus Mask

The costume of The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon displays a fan’s mask-making skills through an dark Norman Reedus mask.

A skilled lover of The Walking Dead captured the likeness of star Norman Reedus in a series of photos brandishing a shockingly real-looking mask.

It was shared via Reddit by FeralWorks, the cosplay perfectly captures the Daryl Dixon likeness with a self-crafted Norman Reedus mask that’s so life-like it’s as if he’s fallen victim to the face-wearing Whisperers. The Walking Dead cosplayer also wore the fan-favorite character’s signature outfit comprised of the black long-sleeved shirt with the black leather vest. The costume also features a replica crossbow that looks like Daryl’s weapon from the original show. In addition, the cosplayer plans to reuse the Reedus mask to portray the actor as Sam Porter Bridges from the popular video game Death Stranding.

Daryl Dixon’s French Connection

Reedus is gearing up to play Daryl Dixon after The Walking Dead has ended its 11-season run in the month of November. The long-running horror drama, produced by AMC continues production in France. Scott M. Gimple, Angela and their team have been tapped as co-creators, executive producers and creators of the series. The newcomers to the franchise include Clemence Poesy as well as Adam Nagaitis, who are being considered to play the roles of the female leading Isabelle and nightclub proprietor Quinn. The first pictures of the set of Daryl Dixon gave viewers a first glimpse at Poesy’s Isabelle and her place in Daryl’s story arc.

The Walking Dead : Daryl Dixon features Daryl in an entirely new environment, as he is lost in France and doesn’t know how the hell he ended up there. Reedus disclosed in a prior interview how his show will reset The Walking Dead Franchise. He said “You discover a lot of things while running a show for 12 years. There are some paths one has to take because of the large number of actors.” “We do not have that. It’s like a fresh start for us, by doing all the things that we loved doing, and just many more.”

The Walking Dead Expands its Universe

AMC is also currently producing two other Walking Dead spinoffs that are also helmed by fan-favorite characters from the main series. Before Daryl Dixon premieres later this year, The Walking Dead: Dead City will be starting off the new phase of the franchise’s expanding universe in June 2023. The spinoff, which will feature the return of Lauren Cohan as well as Jeffrey Dean Morgan revolves around the unlikely couple of Maggie and Negan who are on a dangerous journey to post-apocalyptic Manhattan. The Walking Dead will see the long-awaited reunion of Rick Grimes with Michonne, in 2024. The drama is untitled and stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Guarira.

Alongside the upcoming three shows, Gimple also revealed that the development of other Walking Dead projects is underway to prepare for the next stage of the franchise. Gimple said that this year, “we’re focusing on classic character shows. We’re also wrapping up the spinoff show” Fear the Walking Dead.” There are other projects on the stove. We’re getting the next phase of development ready.”
